Denmark is investigating a series of unauthorised drone incursions over key airports and military sites.

Police confirmed sightings at Aalborg airport—used by both civilian and military aircraft—along with Esbjerg, Sønderborg, and Skrydstrup, home to Denmark’s F-16 and F-35 fighter jets. A drone was also seen over the Jutland Dragoon Regiment base in Holstebro.

Defence minister Troels Lund Poulsen described the activity as a possible hybrid attack, while justice minister Peter Hummelgaard said such actions aim to “create fear and divisions.”

Prime minister Mette Frederiksen discussed the situation with NATO secretary-general Mark Rutte, as allies consider joint measures.

Authorities have not attributed responsibility, though speculation about Russian involvement follows similar airspace violations in Europe. Police continue to receive public reports, including near oilfields and the island of Bornholm.

The government is preparing new legislation to allow critical infrastructure operators to take down drones.
