Côte d’Ivoire’s government has announced a two-month suspension of all public gatherings organised by political parties, citing the need to preserve public order and national security ahead of the 25 October presidential election.
The decree, signed by Minister of Interior and Security Vagondo Diomande and Minister of State and Defence Tene Birahima Ouattara, took effect immediately.

The official campaign period runs from 10–23 October.
