Israel has warned it will escalate attacks against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, a day after Beirut’s Health Ministry reported four deaths from an Israeli airstrike in Kfar Reman.
Despite the November 2024 US-brokered ceasefire, Israel retains troops in five southern areas and continues regular strikes. Defence Minister Israel Katz accused President Joseph Aoun’s government of failing to dismantle Hezbollah, saying the group “is playing with fire”.
• The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said its latest strike killed four members of Hezbollah’s Radwan Force, including its logistics chief.
• Lebanese media identified the dead as Jawad Jaber, Hadi Hamid, Abdullah Kahil, and Muhammad Kahil.
• Lebanon remains under pressure from the US and Saudi Arabia to enforce the truce’s disarmament clause.
Once dominant, Hezbollah has been weakened since Israel’s 2024 campaign, which killed thousands, including Hassan Nasrallah.
