US President Donald Trump warned that Washington could carry out further military strikes if Iran attempts to rebuild its nuclear or missile capabilities, speaking alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Mar-a-Lago on 29 December.
Trump said suspected activity may be occurring outside previously targeted sites and reiterated that any confirmed rebuilding would face “powerful” consequences.
Trump also focused on Hamas’ disarmament, saying the group had pledged to give up its weapons as part of the ceasefire process. “They agreed that they were going to disarm,” he said, adding that if Hamas failed to do so, “they’ll be held to pay for that,” and that other countries were prepared to act if the commitment was not honoured.
