A new state-sanctioned mural warning the United States against launching a military strike on Iran has been unveiled in Enghelab Square in central Tehran, amid rising regional tensions.

The mural depicts damaged aircraft on a US aircraft carrier and carries the slogan “If you sow the wind, you will reap the whirlwind” in both Farsi and English. Enghelab Square is frequently used for official gatherings, with murals regularly updated to reflect state messaging.

The unveiling follows warnings from senior Iranian officials that any US attack would be treated as “all-out war”, as a US aircraft carrier and additional naval assets move towards the region.

US President Donald Trump said the deployments were precautionary, stating they were moved “just in case” military action is required.

The US military has framed the deployments as defensive, though similar buildups have previously preceded strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.
