Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker reaffirmed commitments to deepen bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Austria during delegation-level talks in Vienna.

Meeting at the Hofburg Palace, both leaders discussed expanding collaboration across trade, investment, tourism, education, IT, healthcare and workforce mobility. Officials from both governments attended the talks, alongside senior ministers and diplomats.

The leaders also emphasised the importance of multilateral cooperation and reaffirmed support for the role of the United Nations in global peace, climate action, sustainable development and human rights.

Key developments:

• Both sides agreed to accelerate Memorandums of Understanding covering economic and technical cooperation.

• Leaders co-chaired a CEO forum promoting partnerships in renewable energy, manufacturing, textiles and healthcare sectors.

• Pakistan invited Austrian firms to the upcoming EU-Pakistan Business Forum in Islamabad in April 2026.

Sharif invited Chancellor Stocker to undertake an official visit to Pakistan, signalling continued diplomatic engagement and economic partnership expansion.
