Israeli air strikes have killed at least 10 people in eastern Lebanon, according to Lebanese officials. The Israeli military said it targeted Hezbollah command centres in the Bekaa Valley, accusing the group of embedding military assets in civilian areas and violating ceasefire understandings.

Hezbollah confirmed eight of its members were killed, including a senior field commander.

Key developments:

• At least 10 people killed in strikes described as among the deadliest since the 2024 ceasefire.

• Hezbollah says the ceasefire applies only to southern Lebanon, between the Litani River and the Blue Line.

• Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam called the situation a “one-sided war of attrition”

• Earlier strikes hit Ain al-Helweh camp near Sidon; Israel said it targeted a Hamas command centre.

Lebanon’s government says Israel’s actions breach the ceasefire and has urged international intervention, as regional tensions involving Iran and the United States intensify.
