At the United Nations Security Council 10112th meeting on Saturday (28 February), the United States and Iran exchanged sharp statements over rising Middle East tensions.

Iran’s Ambassador rejected the US justification as unlawful under the UN Charter, denying claims of imminent threat. He described the operation as aggression and defended Iran’s peaceful nuclear programme.
