US President Donald J. Trump gave an address on Sunday (1 March) following the launch of Operation Epic Fury, a large-scale military offensive targeting multiple Iranian facilities. According to Trump, the campaign has struck Revolutionary Guard bases, Iranian air defence systems, and naval infrastructure within hours. Combat operations are ongoing.

Trump confirmed the death of Ayatollah Khamenei, Iran’s former Supreme Leader, calling him “vile” and responsible for the deaths of thousands. He also noted that “three US military service members have been killed in action,” emphasising that “America will avenge their deaths.”

Trump urged Iranian forces to surrender and called on citizens to “be brave, be bold, be heroic, and take back your country,” declaring that the US “will be there to” support them.
