Amir Saeid Iravani, the Permanent Representative of Iran to the United Nations, addressed the UN Security Council on Friday (6 March) regarding the ongoing military escalation. Entering its seventh day, the conflict involves targeted strikes across the region.

Ambassador Iravani reported that the offensive, which began on 28 February, has transitioned into a “large-scale military aggression.” He alleged that the United States and the Israeli regime are targeting civilian infrastructure and densely populated residential areas.

The Ambassador condemned the use of “2,000-pound bombs with massive destructive power,” asserting that the intention is to “terrorize civilians and cause maximum destruction.” He dismissed claims of targeting military objectives as a “lie,” warning that “today it is Iran, tomorrow it could be any other member state.”
