President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine and the Netherlands are exploring expanded joint weapons production, following talks in Kyiv with Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten on Sunday (8 March).

Writing on X, Zelenskyy said the discussions covered potential investment, production capacity, and long-term defence cooperation. Kyiv has intensified efforts to establish joint arms manufacturing with European partners, including new facilities producing military drones.

Ukraine says its battlefield experience countering Iranian-made Shahed drones used by Russia could benefit international partners facing similar threats.

Key developments:

• Ukraine and the Netherlands discussed expanding joint arms production and defence investment.

• Kyiv is scaling up drone manufacturing and interceptor drone development.

• Ukraine offered to export interceptor drones not required by its military.

• The first group of Ukrainian military instructors will deploy to the Middle East to share anti-drone expertise.

Ukrainian manufacturers say they can produce low-cost interceptor drones at scale, potentially supplying allies confronting expanding drone warfare threats.
