At the Shield of the Americas Summit in Florida, US President Donald Trump outlined recent US foreign policy moves in Latin America and the Middle East.

Trump described Cuba as “at the end of the line,” citing economic strain and the loss of Venezuelan support, and said talks between Cuban officials and US negotiators including Secretary of State Marco Rubio could yield an agreement.

He reaffirmed recognition of the Venezuelan government led by Delcy Rodríguez following the January removal of Nicolás Maduro.

On Iran, Trump claimed US forces had “knocked out” 42 Iranian naval vessels in three days and degraded military communications as part of ongoing operations.
