Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al Thani has condemned recent missile and drone strikes on Gulf countries, describing them as a “dangerous miscalculation” with the potential to destabilise regional security and disrupt the global economy.

Speaking to Sky News, he emphasised that Qatar had maintained diplomatic relations with Iran and sought to avoid involvement in the conflict, but will defend its territory if threatened.

The prime minister warned that attacks on civilian and energy infrastructure, including gas and fertiliser production, carry far-reaching consequences. Qatar supplies roughly 20% of the world’s gas and is a leading global fertiliser producer, meaning disruptions could affect food security and international markets.
