Namibia and Botswana have agreed to deepen cooperation on trade, infrastructure, and natural resource management following a one-day working visit in Windhoek. Namibia President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah hosted Botswana President Duma Gideon Boko, reviewing existing agreements and exploring ways to expand economic links.

“We agreed that we should have regular consultations to assess progress and ensure implementation for the benefit of our people,” Nandi-Ndaitwah said.

Key developments:

• Both leaders highlighted strategic projects, including the Trans-Kalahari Railway and Namibia’s Walvis Bay port, to boost regional trade and connectivity.

• Emphasis on structured, regular consultations to monitor bilateral initiatives.

• Shared commitment to regional cooperation amid rising global geopolitical tensions.

The visit reinforces the two nations’ role in fostering economic integration and stability in southern Africa.
