In an interview with AP News, Ali Bahreini, an Iranian diplomat, said Iran is prepared for “any scenario” in the war with the United States and Israel, including a ground operation.

Bahreini described Iran’s regional position as strengthened, arguing that shifting priorities among its adversaries reflect a strategic advantage. He warned that any ground invasion would be a “big mistake”, indicating the risk of further escalation.

Recent reports indicate a potential expansion of the US military presence in the region. On Thursday (26 March) the Wall Street Journal that The Pentagon is looking at sending ‌up to 10,000 additional ground troops to the Middle East ⁠to give President Donald Trump more military options even as he weighs peace talks with ‌Tehran,.

Separately, reports from regional and international outlets suggest Iran has mobilised more than one million fighters in preparation for a possible ground invasion, reflecting heightened defensive readiness and the risk of further escalation.
