The United States has deployed an additional 3,500 troops to the Middle East, reinforcing its military posture as the conflict with Iran enters its second month.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed the deployment includes sailors and marines attached to the USS Tripoli, alongside assault and transport capabilities. Reports suggest contingency planning for limited ground operations, though no formal decision has been announced.

US President Donald Trump has issued mixed signals on the conflict’s trajectory, while Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated Washington must prepare for “multiple contingencies.” Iranian officials, including parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, have warned of retaliation against any ground incursion.

The conflict continues to impact regional security, energy markets, and global diplomatic efforts.
