US President Donald Trump said negotiations with Iran are “moving along very nicely” following talks, while confirming continued US military activity targeting Iranian positions.

Speaking aboard Air Force One on Sunday (29 March), President Trump stated that US forces, including the Navy and Air Force, had struck “many targets” during the day. He added that discussions with Iran are taking place both directly and indirectly.

Trump also suggested significant changes within Iran’s leadership, describing it as a form of “regime change”, while expressing cautious optimism about a potential agreement.

On Cuba, Trump said “Cuba is going to be next” and described the country as “a failing country”, while indicating the US would allow oil shipments, including from Russia. He added that “the people need heat and cooling”, signalling a humanitarian rationale despite criticism of Havana’s leadership.

In recent weeks Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel has confirmed ongoing talks with the US as the country faces a severe economic crisis compounded by reduced oil supplies following political changes in Venezuela, previously a key supplier.
