Russia and Egypt have reaffirmed their strategic partnership during talks in Moscow, focusing on energy, infrastructure and regional stability.

Russian President Vladimir Putin met Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, alongside Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov, with Egypt represented by Ambassador Hamdy Shaaban. The discussions followed a recent call between Putin and President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

Both sides highlighted ongoing cooperation, particularly on large-scale development and energy projects.

• Plans for a Russian industrial zone in Egypt remain under development

• Proposals include establishing a grain and energy hub to strengthen regional supply chains

• Russia confirmed stable grain exports to Egypt following a strong agricultural year

Regional security and the Middle East situation were also discussed, with both sides emphasising dialogue and stability. Egypt confirmed participation in the upcoming Russia-Africa summit.
