US President Donald Trump has warned that Iran’s infrastructure could face “complete demolition” within hours, stating the US has the capability to destroy “every bridge” and disable power plants “by 12:00 tomorrow night.” He added that such action was not preferred, noting “we don’t want that to happen.”

The comments form part of a broader ultimatum, with Washington setting a deadline for Tehran to restore shipping access through the Strait of Hormuz or risk potential military action targeting key infrastructure.

Speaking during a press conference on Monday (6 April), Trump also praised a complex US military search-and-rescue mission in Iran, describing it as one of the most challenging operations undertaken by US forces. The mission successfully extracted a US airman despite mechanical failures affecting MC-130 aircraft, requiring a revised evacuation plan.

The developments come amid a widening conflict between the US and Iran, ongoing since late February, with continued strikes, regional spillover, and unconvincing diplomatic efforts. Iran has rejected recent proposals, while warning of further retaliation, as global energy markets react to disruptions in one of the world’s most critical oil transit routes.
