Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has affirmed Israel’s readiness to resume military action against Iran, despite a temporary truce brokered with the United States.

Speaking on national television, Netanyahu described the ceasefire as a pause, not the conclusion of Israel’s campaign, emphasising that Israel remains focused on achieving its objectives.

“Let me be clear: We still have objectives to complete and we will achieve them, either through agreement or through renewed fighting,” Netanyahu said in a televised statement.

“We are prepared to return to combat at any moment required. The finger is on the trigger. This is not the end of the campaign, but a step along the way to achieving all our objectives.”

He highlighted the campaign’s impact on Iran, including damage to nuclear infrastructure, missile stockpiles, and the Revolutionary Guards’ financial and weapons networks. Netanyahu also noted strikes on steel plants, petrochemical complexes, and transport infrastructure, describing Iran as “battered” and “weaker than ever.”

The Israeli premier countered criticism from opposition leader Yair Lapid, who called the agreement a “diplomatic disaster,” stressing that Israel coordinated fully with Washington before the truce began.
