During a visit to the 6th Singapore Division/Headquarters Sense & Strike at Mandai Hill Camp on Thursday (9 April), Prime Minister Lawrence Wong emphasised Singapore’s need to prepare for a world “where the global order is coming apart,” warning of “more disorder, more conflicts, more fighting around the world in the years ahead.”

Wong noted the evolving nature of threats, citing unmanned systems: “You can have the most advanced interceptors but when your aggressor is deploying cheap swarms of drones, it’s very challenging for your interceptors to defend.”

He added that resilience requires more than equipment, highlighting the importance of “technology, defence supply chains and how we can be more resilient as a country.”
