Senegal’s Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko has criticised US President Donald Trump over his foreign policy approach, arguing it has destabilised global order without achieving stated objectives.

Speaking at an international sovereignty conference in Dakar, Sonko said recent efforts to curb Iran’s ballistic and nuclear capabilities had failed. He told attendees that “none of the objectives has been met,” adding that global instability had increased.

The conference, hosted by political scientist Pascal Boniface, highlighted shifting global dynamics and the growing influence of the Global South.
