Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and Finnish President Alexander Stubb held talks in Cairo on Tuesday (21 April) focused on economic cooperation, investment expansion, and regional stability, according to the Egyptian presidency. 

The discussions followed Stubb’s official visit and included expanded delegations featuring business leaders from both sides.

  • Talks also covered trade, investment, ICT, renewable energy, healthcare, education and advanced industries.
  • Finnish business delegation signalled interest in expanding investment in Egypt’s market.
  • Leaders discussed EU–Egypt strategic partnership and Finland’s supporting role.
  • Regional issues included Gaza ceasefire, Sudan, Lebanon, Libya, Gulf security and Palestinian two-state solution.

Both leaders noted broad alignment and potential to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors. President Stubb reaffirmed Finland’s interest in strengthening ties and maintaining ongoing consultations on regional and international stability.
