Bangladesh and Türkiye have agreed to establish a new ministerial-level mechanism focused on defence cooperation and foreign affairs, marking a further step in strengthening bilateral relations.
The announcement followed talks in Dhaka between Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who is visiting Bangladesh as part of a wider regional tour.
Officials said the new framework will support closer coordination on security, diplomacy and strategic issues, while both countries also agreed to hold annual consultations involving their foreign and defence ministries.
