In Brussels on Tuesday (23 Jun), President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan met European Council President António Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to reinforce the EU–Kazakhstan strategic partnership. 

Discussions centred on connectivity, energy security and resilient supply chains under the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (EPCA).

The leaders emphasised expanding trade and investment ties, particularly through the EU’s Global Gateway strategy, covering critical raw materials, transport, digitalisation and energy cooperation, alongside strengthened regional stability in Central Asia.

  • Visa facilitation and aviation cooperation agreements advanced

The meeting reaffirmed commitments to the Trans-Caspian Corridor, climate transition, and continued dialogue on governance reforms, sanctions, and multilateral cooperation
