Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has claimed that Iran achieved a “true victory” in both military and political dimensions of its conflict with the United States and Israel, arguing that Tehran’s opponents failed to meet their stated objectives.
In a speech to parliamentary reporters, Qalibaf described the confrontation as an “unfair war” led by the US and Israel, saying Iran’s population “stood, fought and resisted” throughout the conflict.
Highlighting his assessment of the outcome, Qalibaf said: “We have truly won this war in its military and political dimensions.”
He clarified that his definition of victory was not based on destroying opposing forces, stating: “My meaning of this war is not that we destroyed the American army or the Israeli regime’s army.”
Instead, he argued that the US and Israel entered the conflict with “nine specific, officially announced and repeatedly stated objectives” but failed to achieve them.
Qalibaf said: “They did not reach any of these objectives at any level. This was the greatest absolute defeat for America and the Zionist regime.”
Addressing diplomacy, he described a memorandum of understanding with the US as a significant achievement, calling it “a document of pride and victory in the field of diplomacy.”
