French President Emmanuel Macron and King Abdullah II of Jordan have agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation following the Jordanian monarch’s official visit to France on Thursday (17 Sep).
The Franco-Jordanian declaration highlighted expanded collaboration in defence, security, economic development and regional diplomacy, with both leaders emphasising continued coordination on Middle East issues.

- Defence cooperation agreement signed to deepen military and security ties.
- France reaffirmed support for Jordan’s security and stability amid regional tensions.
- Both countries backed cooperation on Jordan’s National Conveyor Project to address water challenges.
- Leaders called for diplomatic solutions in Gaza, Syria and wider regional crises.
- France, Jordan and Lebanon held an Aqaba Process meeting to support the Lebanese Armed Forces and strengthen Lebanon’s sovereignty and security.
France and Jordan also reaffirmed support for international humanitarian law, maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz, Red Sea and Bab-el-Mandeb, and efforts to strengthen regional stability.
