Kosovo has approved the deployment of security personnel to an international stabilisation mission in Gaza, marking a shift in its post-conflict security role.

Kosovo’s Parliament voted 89–0 to support the government’s decision to contribute troops to the US-backed International Stabilization Force (ISF), following the Israel–Hamas ceasefire.

Defence Minister Ejup Maqedonci said the move reflects Kosovo’s transition from a “security consumer” to a contributor, citing support previously received from NATO peacekeepers.

The contingent will include several dozen officers, including demining specialists, tasked with humanitarian and security support under the ISF mandate.

Key developments:

  • Kosovo to deploy dozens of troops to Gaza under ISF framework
  • Mission linked to US President Donald Trump’s Board of Peace initiative
  • Preparations include training, vaccinations, and logistical coordination with US officials
  • Kosovo continues military development with a 4,000-strong NATO-aligned force

The initiative highlights Kosovo’s evolving defence posture amid ongoing regional tensions with Serbia.
