Prime Minister Gaston Browne has led the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) to a fourth consecutive election victory following a snap general election in the Caribbean nation.

Official results showed the ABLP secured 15 of 17 parliamentary seats, while the opposition United Progressive Party (UPP) retained one seat through party leader Jamale Pringle. Trevor Walker also returned to parliament representing the Barbuda People’s Movement.

The election was called two years before the constitutional deadline, with campaigning focused on living costs and infrastructure development.

Key developments:

  • ABLP won 15 of 17 seats in parliament
  • Jamale Pringle became the UPP’s sole elected representative
  • Gaston Browne and Attorney General Steadroy Benjamin were sworn in on Friday
  • Remaining Cabinet ministers are scheduled to be sworn in next week

Speaking after the result, Browne pledged to build a “united and inclusive” Antigua and Barbuda.
