The UK and Poland have signed a new Security and Defence Partnership Treaty, strengthening bilateral cooperation amid ongoing European security pressures.

The agreement reinforces NATO commitments, deepens defence integration, and identifies evolving geopolitical risks, including Russia’s long-term threat to Euro-Atlantic stability. It also expands coordination on Ukraine, cyber security, sanctions, and economic resilience across Europe.

  • Enhanced joint military training, interoperability, and defence industrial collaboration
  • Coordinated sanctions policy, counter-hybrid threats, and intelligence sharing
  • Expanded cooperation on energy security, cyber defence, and critical infrastructure protection

The treaty establishes a structured governance framework, including a senior coordination mechanism and biennial Prime Minister-level reviews to oversee implementation.

The agreement is framed within wider European and NATO security architecture and aims to deepen long-term strategic alignment between the UK and Poland.
