The United States, Israel and Lebanon have signed a trilateral framework intended to support regional stability, strengthen Lebanon’s sovereignty, and establish a structured process for implementing future security measures.

According to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the agreement creates a Military Coordination Group for Lebanon (MCG4L), facilitated by the United States, to oversee implementation. The framework also outlines steps linked to the disarmament of Hizballah and Israel’s return to its borders once security conditions are met.

Key developments:

  • MCG4L will coordinate implementation between the three governments.
  • The US announced $100 million in humanitarian assistance, coordinated with the United Nations.
  • More than $30 million may be provided to support the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) under existing authorities.

The US said it will continue working with regional partners to implement the framework and support long-term peace and security in the Middle East.
