Outgoing Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced a €300 million UK investment to help deliver a squadron of 16 Swedish Gripen E fighter jets to Ukraine by 2029, during what the government described as his final week in office.
The funding package includes pilot and engineer training, simulators, spare parts and support equipment. It is also expected to support around 5,000 skilled jobs across more than 50 UK companies involved in the Gripen programme.
