US President Donald Trump has announced that the Board of Peace, together with mediators Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye and the United States, has reached an agreement under which Hamas has committed to a phased roadmap for the complete disarmament of armed groups in Gaza.
In a statement, the Board of Peace said the roadmap concludes months of negotiations and forms part of the next phase of the US-backed Gaza ceasefire plan.
It said the agreement provides for Hamas to relinquish its weapons, followed by the phased withdrawal of Israeli forces, with implementation supported by the International Stabilization Force (ISF) and the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG) as authority transitions to a new Palestinian administration.
Trump described the agreement as a “major milestone” in his 20-Point Plan, saying it would help establish new governance in Gaza while addressing Israel’s security concerns.
