Singapore and Ecuador have strengthened bilateral relations during the State Visit of President Daniel Noboa Azín, the first by an Ecuadorian head of state to Singapore. Leaders discussed expanding cooperation across trade, food security, digitalisation and sustainable development.
President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and President Noboa reaffirmed warm ties, while Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong discussed regional developments and closer economic cooperation. The leaders also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Development Cooperation by Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Vivian Balakrishnan and Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Roberto Carlos Kury Pesantes.
