The United Kingdom and Germany have agreed to expand defence cooperation following the second Defence Ministerial Council under the Trinity House Agreement, held two years after the partnership was signed.

Defence Secretary Wes Streeting MP and Defence Minister Boris Pistorius MdB reaffirmed support for Ukraine, outlined progress on joint military capability projects, and agreed to broaden collaboration across cyber, artificial intelligence and space.

Key developments:

  • Deep Precision Strike missile programme with a planned range exceeding 2,000 km remains on track for delivery within the decade.
  • Expanded cooperation on Sting Ray procurement, maritime operations, air capabilities and uncrewed systems.
  • Defence partnership to extend into AI, cyber capabilities, satellite communications, earth observation and space domain awareness.

The ministers also directed officials to maintain momentum through 2027, with continued emphasis on practical defence cooperation and NATO-related capabilities.
