Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has concluded a Gulf tour spanning Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, engaging regional leaders amid heightened Middle East tensions and energy security concerns.

In Doha, Meloni met Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, thanking Qatar for assisting Italian citizens during early stages of the regional conflict. She also expressed solidarity following reported Iranian attacks affecting Qatar.

Discussions focused on diplomatic efforts to stabilise the crisis, safeguard regional security, and address energy disruptions. Both leaders emphasised the importance of maintaining freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and strengthening bilateral cooperation.
