Chinese President Xi Jinping has met Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Beijing, calling for closer China-Russia strategic coordination amid rising global instability.

Speaking at the Great Hall of the People, Xi Jinping emphasised the need to defend shared interests and support unity among Global South countries, describing bilateral relations as a source of stability.

The meeting comes as geopolitical tensions intensify, including disruption to global energy flows linked to the Strait of Hormuz.

Earlier discussions between Sergey Lavrov and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi addressed broader geopolitical coordination. The visit reflects continued alignment under the China-Russia “no limits” strategic partnership.
