US Under Secretary for Economic Affairs Jacob Helberg held talks with President Irfaan Ali and senior Guyanese officials during a visit to Georgetown this week. Discussions centred on investment opportunities linked to Guyana’s growing oil, mining and logistics sectors.
Guyana’s rising geopolitical importance has been strengthened by major offshore oil discoveries and increasing global energy demand. Officials also discussed potential US involvement in mineral surveys and infrastructure development.
