China and Moldova have reaffirmed efforts to strengthen bilateral relations following discussions in Beijing between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi. 

The talks focused on expanding cooperation, mutual trust, and development under the Belt and Road framework.

  • Expansion of trade, investment, and cooperation in green energy, digital economy, education, tourism and youth exchanges
  • China reiterates support for Moldova’s development path; Moldova affirms the One China principle and UN Charter alignment
  • Both sides address the Ukraine crisis, with emphasis on dialogue and continued peace talks

Mihai Popsoi welcomed China’s international role and expressed Moldova’s readiness to deepen cooperation on multilateral platforms, including the United Nations, while supporting multilateralism and international law.
