The Foreign Ministers of Türkiye, Egypt, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening regional consultation and coordination following the Fourth Consultative Meeting (R4) in Cairo on Sunday (21 Jun).

The ministers welcomed the 18 June Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the United States and Iran, describing it as a constructive step towards de-escalation. They also called for the full implementation of its commitments and supported further negotiations aimed at achieving a lasting and verifiable agreement.

Key developments:

  • Pakistan was commended for its role in facilitating the US–Iran MoU, with Qatar recognised for supporting the negotiations.
  • The ministers stressed the importance of regional security, including the stability of the Gulf and Levant.
  • They reaffirmed support for an independent Palestinian state based on the 4 June 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, while highlighting ongoing concerns over Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem.
