Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė resigned alongside her cabinet on Tuesday (23 Jun), concluding a ten-month premiership as the country prepares for a new coalition government. The outgoing cabinet will remain in office until a successor is approved.
President Gitanas Nausėda is expected to nominate Mindaugas Sinkevičius, leader of the Social Democrats, as Prime Minister, pending approval by the Seimas. Ruginienė is expected to return as Minister of Social Security and Labour in the new cabinet.
