The AI for Good Global Summit 2026, held in Geneva from 7–10 July, concluded with record attendance, underscoring growing international interest in artificial intelligence as governments, researchers and industry seek to balance innovation with effective governance.

Organised by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) alongside more than 50 UN partners, the summit followed the inaugural United Nations Global Dialogue on AI Governance, which brought together delegates from 193 countries to discuss international cooperation on AI policy.

Throughout the summit, exhibitors demonstrated advances in robotics, brain-computer interfaces and AI-powered accessibility technologies.

Fred Werner, Head of Strategic Engagement at the ITU, said AI is entering an era of increasingly autonomous systems, while companies and research institutions showcased medical and mobility innovations designed to improve communication, independence and rehabilitation for people with disabilities.
