US Central Command (CENTCOM) completed a ninth consecutive night of strikes against Iran late on Sunday (19 Jul), concluding what it described as a weekend wave of military operations.

According to CENTCOM, the strikes targeted Iranian military infrastructure to reduce Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping and civilian mariners transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

Key developments

  • Targets included military command centres, air defence systems, coastal surveillance sites, missile and drone launch locations, maritime assets, and communications networks.
  • The command said the operations were conducted under the direction of the Commander in Chief.
  • CENTCOM stated its forces remain on high alert and prepared for further operations.
