The two countries said the new framework aims to expand cooperation in areas including trade, investment, mining, technology, healthcare, agriculture and sustainable development.

Key developments:

  • China and Botswana signed cooperation documents across multiple sectors.
  • Botswana welcomed expanded economic cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
  • Both sides agreed to strengthen collaboration in mining, digital transformation and green development.
  • The countries reaffirmed support for multilateralism, international law and United Nations principles.

The partnership builds on 51 years of diplomatic relations, with both governments highlighting shared development priorities and greater cooperation between China and Africa.
