Greece and Qatar have agreed to deepen cooperation across trade, energy and defence, extending a bilateral framework first established in 2024.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani met in Athens to review economic ties and explore further investment opportunities in infrastructure, data centres, energy and hospitality sectors.
Sheikh Tamim said defence cooperation had become increasingly relevant amid global instability, while Mitsotakis described Greece as a “force of stability” and emphasised the need for diplomatic solutions to ongoing regional crises.
Talks also focused on the Iran conflict, developments in Lebanon, and the importance of safeguarding freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. Both sides agreed on expanding cooperation in areas including agri-food, culture and education, alongside a new agricultural memorandum signed between their respective ministries.
