France and Syria have signed a broad package of agreements and memorandums of understanding covering transport, aviation, healthcare, trade, banking and infrastructure during French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Damascus.
The agreements were signed in the presence of Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa and President Macron, marking another step in expanding bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
- Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot signed a framework declaration on comprehensive cooperation.
- A strategic partnership was agreed between Syria’s ports authority and CMA CGM covering maritime transport, air transport and logistics.
- Additional agreements covered healthcare, civil aviation, economic cooperation, central banking support, water treatment, energy and university hospital development.
The visit reflects continued diplomatic engagement as France and Syria deepen political and economic relations.
