Cambodia and Lithuania have agreed to deepen bilateral relations and expand cooperation across key sectors following high-level talks in Phnom Penh.
During a meeting at the Peace Palace, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn and Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys reaffirmed their commitment to sustained political engagement and broader diplomatic ties.
Prime Minister Hun Manet highlighted Cambodia’s economic and sustainability agenda, while both sides emphasised opportunities in energy, trade, and digital transformation.
- Cambodia aims to increase clean energy capacity to 70% by 2030, up from 62%.
- Both countries prioritised energy security, digital innovation, and private sector partnerships.
- Lithuania’s expertise in energy infrastructure and global mine clearance was acknowledged.
- Leaders reaffirmed support for the UN Charter and peaceful dispute resolution.
The talks also addressed regional and global issues, signalling a move towards a more structured Cambodia–Lithuania partnership.
