China and Kyrgyzstan have reaffirmed their strategic partnership following talks in Bishkek between China’s Minister of National Defense Dong Jun and Kyrgyz Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev.
During the visit, Dong Jun described China and Kyrgyzstan as “good neighbours, friends, and partners,” highlighting sustained progress in bilateral relations and expanding military cooperation. He stated that under the guidance of both heads of state, ties have continued to deepen, with cooperation reaching a higher level across multiple sectors.
Adylbek Kasymaliev said relations with China are developing “rapidly and steadily,” underpinned by strong political mutual trust. He reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan’s view of China as a core strategic partner and emphasised continued cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) framework.
Both sides highlighted the importance of strengthening practical military cooperation to address regional security threats including terrorism, extremism, separatism, and transnational crime, amid what they described as a more complex global security environment.
