Speaking to journalist Sharyl Attkisson on Full Measure in an interview aired on 10 May 2026, US President Donald Trump said Iran had been “militarily defeated” and claimed the country had “no navy”, “no air force” and “no radar”. He also stated that Iran’s senior leadership structure had been severely weakened, saying “the A-team is gone” and “the B-team is gone”, while adding it could take “20 years to rebuild”.

Trump further stated that the United States continued monitoring Iranian nuclear-related sites through American intelligence and defence systems, reiterating that Iran “cannot ever” obtain a nuclear weapon. Referring to surveillance capabilities, he said the facilities were “very well surveilled” and warned that if activity was detected “we will know about it”.

The interview comes amid continued international attention on Iran-US tensions, regional security, ceasefire developments, and nuclear non-proliferation efforts.
