Czech Foreign Minister Petr Macinka reaffirmed the Czech Republic’s support for Israel within the European Union and internationally during talks with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar in Tel Aviv.
The ministers opened the Israel-Czech Business Forum, where they signed a joint declaration to expand economic, political and technological cooperation and establish the event as an annual forum. Gideon Sa’ar thanked the Czech Republic for its continued support.

During the meeting, Petr Macinka said the Czech Republic would continue strengthening economic cooperation with Israel while maintaining its political support for the country within the European Union.
Gideon Sa’ar described Israel as “a friend and partner of Europe” and thanked the Czech Republic and other allied countries for what he said was preventing the EU from becoming “a tool for promoting anti-Israeli policies”.
